Bored of the meal kits or want to try a competitor? We get you. We’ve researched the best way to cancel your Hellofresh subscription (for our UK readers), below.
How To Cancel Hellofresh Subscription (UK)
In order to cancel your Hellofresh subscription, you’ll need to follow these steps:
- Sign in to your account on the Hellofresh website
- Click your name at the top of the page and press the “Settings” option
- Select the relevant subscription you would like to cancel and press “Cancel my subscription” in the bottom right corner
- Then run through the on-screen prompts until it confirms your subscription has been deactivated
You’ll need to cancel 5 days prior to your next delivery otherwise the order will continue to go ahead.
You can also follow the above steps to pause/freeze your subscription, just press the relevant option once you’re in the Settings page.
If you’re looking to cancel before you’ve received your first box, this can’t be done via the steps above and so you will need to contact the Hellofresh customer services on:
- Selecting “ask a question” on their contact page to bring up their live chat functionality
- Through the Hellofresh app live chat functionality (you need to download the Hellofresh app to do this)
What is Hellofresh?
Hellofresh is a meal kit and recipe delivery and subscription service. They have a range of recipes you can select, which come delivered to your door. All of the ingredients are portioned to the size required in the recipes, meaning you won’t have much food waste or have to buy a large jar of some obscure ingredient for only one recipe.
How To Stay On Top Of Your Subscriptions
As you’re already here, you’re already in the process of doing this which is great to see!
Trimming back any monthly subscriptions you have regularly is a great (and easy) way to give your personal finances a spring clean. By only investing 30 minutes of your time you could potentially save yourself hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds each year depending on how many subscriptions you have.
So it is definitely worth doing!
How to find all of your subscriptions?
You could do it manually by downloading your bank statements and tagging up all of the transactions which repeat each month. But there is an easier way.
Try downloading one of the top budgeting apps. Our favourites are Snoop*, Plum* and Emma*.
These apps connect to your bank accounts via the Open Banking API. They automatically categorise your transactions and will also flag your monthly subscriptions.
Once you have this list of subscriptions, you can run through and cancel any that you don’t use very often, or that you don’t think are good enough value to justify the expense.
